What did I just do?
Written by Tiny Terry
OK! I am the first to admit that I might be a little bit over-ambitious and this is probably not the smartest thing I have ever done.
A little background:
For the past couple of months, I have wanted to get back in shape (probably around 10 years since last time I was in shape), but I get easily bored, and am not able to train without some kind of goal/purpose/direction.
I love football and we tried to play on a weekly basis, but people quickly started to drop out.
We have thought of other kinds physical activity to replace the football, and hopefully, we'll start with some badminton soon....
In a weak moment (might be some alcohol involved), I remembered reading about something called Birkebeinerrittet, a course of 91 km on a bicycle, starting in Rena and ending in Lillehammer. In my desire to do something outrageous and not something that I would usually do, I thought to myself that if I gave this a serious shot, I could be proud of myself (at least for trying if i don't complete).
Luckily (or unfortunately), I got a colleague sitting next to me, who has a big problem saying 'No' to stuff like this, and as soon as I told him my plans and asked if he wanted to join, it didnt take long before we both were stupid enough to come to an agreement.
We will try and update this blog throughout a year, about progress and what our plans are
Wish us luck!
